Sorting
Here are a couple of ideas that might help you when you need to sort data.
Q: I have a table of data that is not sorted in any particular order. How do
I reverse the current order?
A: Add a helper column to the left or right of the table. In that column put
a list of numbers (in order of course) then sort on that list. Once the table is
in the order you want it, then delete the helper column.
Q: I have some download data that has lots of blank rows. How do I get rid of
them but keep the rest of the download data in its current order?
A: Add a helper column to the left or right of the data. In that column put a
list of numbers (in order of course). Now sort on a column of your original data
that contains the blank rows you want to eliminate so all the blank rows go to
the bottom. When you've done that, delete the blank rows. Now resort on the
numbers in the helper column and there's your data with no blank rows.
